With equipped PCR vans, cops ready to bust crime

Police Control Room (PCR) vans of Mangalore city police now come fully-loaded with not just men in khaki, but also a slew of items -- 30 to be precise, that enables them to go about their business with proficiency. Ten vans were launched on January 26 this year. Thirty compact kits were given to personnel manning these vans on Tuesday.

The kit includes a rechargeable torch, thermos flask, glass, first aid box, wireless set, traffic jacket, fire extinguisher, polycarbonate shield, batons, helmets, nylon ropes, surgical gloves, body bag, raincoats and collapsible cones. Digital cameras which are part of the kits will be addded shortly, said city police chief Seemanth Kumar Singh who dedicated the kit.

"The items in the kit are useful to deal with law and order situations and a crime scene.
