Women's Day celebrated with a 'Crazee Carnival'

It is a day of global celebration across the world for women. It was the International Women's Day that entered its centenary year. Women were appreciated for their various achievements and their effective contribution to economic, political and social fields.

Similarly, to mark the significance of the day since it has entered the 100th year, Crazee Carnival', an event, was celebrated in the grounds of St. John The Baptist High School this Sunday.

The unique Crazee Carnival organised by the Thane Women's Cell of St John the Baptist Church was conducted in order to focus on women's talents. The event that started post evening mass witnessed several kids along with their parents who had gathered to celebrate the Women's Day. The entire atmosphere was delighted with the presence of women, whereas men and kids added to the glory of the celebrations. "The all-women team led by Erica Pereira and Amber Godinho succeeded in their three-fold mission which was to bring the Goan Carnival right here to Thane, to give women an opportunity to showcase their talents and to give everyone, men, women and children, a great evening," said Marcia D'Cunha, the secretary of Arch Diocese of Mumbai, Women's Commission. The programme ended with the prize distribution ceremony on the basis of lucky draw.
